HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT (HSE) POLICY STATEMENT
Our utmost commitment to achieving the highest level of HSE performance implies that:
- The greatest importance must be attached to loss prevention, in particular to the Health, Safety and Security of all employees and the public at large. At SIL, ‘all incidents are preventable’.
- Each of our Managers, Supervisors or Employees must take responsibility for Health, Safety and Welfare within their respective areas as their right and obligation to working safe without being harmed or causing harm to others.
- The attitude and co-operation of each employee in their workplaces within and outside our worksites must prove that safe and healthy conditions are achieved and losses minimized in all our operation.
- No work MUST START unless considered SAFE and must be SUSPENDED when there is every reason to believe that essential Safety Systems are not in place or available HSE Systems are not being followed.
- All activities must be planned and executed in such a way that will minimize adverse effects
on the environment.
The Company undertakes to provide appropriate resources to enable implementation of this policy. All company staff must openly commit themselves to active participation in the implementation and realization of this policy in all our operations.
